“I should quit my job…”

July 22nd, 2011

My buddy and I were talking the other day about how much our work lives effect our social lives and things we’re committed to. In the end, it all boiled down to one thing; “I should quit my job…”

Don’t get me wrong, I love where I work (for the co-workers reading this), but it’s hard to get everything done when you’ve got so much compiled into one full day. Eventually the workload starts building upon itself until you’ve forgotten about that one thing you love to do. And for me, that’s skating. It got me thinking, I should just put in my two weeks and dedicate 110% to skating, just to see where it takes me. Ha, yeah right! Got to pay the bills somehow. We can dream big, though.

The main purpose of this blog was to apologize to all the blog and Twitter followers out there for the lack of updates. The truth is, all of us on the Brilliance team have been pushing hard at our day jobs and haven’t put in enough time for Brilliance into our everyday tasks. That needs to change. So, from now on, there will be daily blogs (only on the weekdays because I’ll be skating on the weekends), lots of conversing throughout the Twittersphere, and a little secret… we’ve got a pretty big online contest in the works!

Hang in there, guys. We’re doing our best to manage our time and put in at least 50% towards those who care about Brilliance and what the company stands for.

This shoe brand is extremely nostalgic for me…

July 13th, 2011

We’ve all owned a pair or two of this brand. The bulkiness, the weightlessness, and excessive padding of the ever-so-famous Osiris Shoe, which made your feet feel so protected. They were actually real similar to those Moon Shoes in some aspects…

I’m kidding. Great brand, comfortable shoes, and some great skaters on the team. I actually just grabbed a pair of the Duffy LP Low’s to add to my massive shoe collection (I’ve got a problem), so I probably sound like an idiot for comparing them to moon shoes.

Anyways, they recently posted a video on their blog following one of their team skaters, Corey Duffel. I’m sure you have heard of him. He takes you around his house, his local skate park busting out some backside smiths and backside blunts, and brings you into his first and only shop sponsor called Metro. And guys before you “judge” the kid on his awkwardness, try talking into a camera yourself. Seriously, though. It’s extremely awkward.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year…

November 22nd, 2010

Yeah right…

Seattle was recently hit with a big snow blizzard. Watch the full video, the ending is worth it…

And then this poor guy paid his dues after attempting the hill in my neighbor. Whenever it snows in Seattle some people are just idiots, or it may be that they are so confident in their driving skills that they think they can concur huge icy hills. He completely spun 180 degrees and ended up on top of the curb. He then tried to get back up the hill… Failed.

2010 Fall Footwear Preview!

January 8th, 2010

I’ve been looking through all the shoe previews deciding which ones I plan on purchasing once they come out… I think I am feeling the Kustom’s Kramer the most. It’s more my style. Pretty stoked for Habitat’s new footwear line also. They’ve been working on it since 2008 for a 2010 Spring launch. Click on the image below to check out some of new lines from companies like, DVS, Etnies, IPATH, Nike SB, DC, etc.

2010 has finally arrived!

January 2nd, 2010

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a good New Years celebration! Unfortunately, I really don’t have any insane drunken stories to tell you about. Just that we had a few friends fly out from Pittsburgh because they enjoy Seattle enough to spend their New Years with me. Thanks guys. Although, if I were living in Pittsburgh I would most likely head out to Seattle to hang out with me as well. Please note that I am not one of those clowns who bash on a city even though I have never experienced the lifestyle of said city. I have. It was good for a while, but got boring and dull real quick. Great people there, though! Heh. I should stop before I start receiving hate mail from obsessed Stiller fans…

About 20 of us rolled up to my buddy’s girlfriend’s place to all celebrate New Years Eve together and all had a great time. Here he is… poor kid passed out a little too early and paid the consequences…

Hope you kids had a great Christmas… I sure did! I woke up to find that the highly anticipated skate video of 2009, ‘The Final Flare’ was packed in my stocking… thanks to me. This mega-box set is loaded with one HD Blu-Ray Full Length Feature; weekend at Biebles, Guy medical leave of absence, Fully Flared intro, Fully Finished, and much more. The second disc is jammed with ‘The Fully Flare’ documentary, unused footage, alternate edits, etc. Then lastly you have your original ‘The Fully Flare’ skate video along with some other sick features. Below is a trailer.

Hit up your local skate shop and treat yourself to this DVD. Maybe you should grab Beauty and the Beast 2 while you’re there…
